Global Accessibility Awareness Day22nd Apr 2013
Global Accessibility Awareness Day
For many, the Internet is the fastest and easiest way to access information. But for people who are blind or partially-sighted and those with hearing, mobility, or cognitive disabilities, navigating the online world can present its own set of challenges.
Overcoming these challenges is the inspiration behind the first Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD) on May 9 2013. GAAD is a community-driven effort and its goal is to dedicate one day to raising the profile digital (web, software, mobile app/device etc.) accessibility and persons with disabilities to the broadest audience possible. The day is meant to educate technology designers and developers about making the web more accessible for people with disabilities. We know that making our websites more accessible helps all of our customers to get from Sky.
